Training

Busy Weekend, First Race

Have had a real busy weekend,

Friday night out with the NSRRA handing out awards to fellow runners which was really nice,

Then Saturday in Hanley to promote the potters arf marathon, never thought i'd be running in Hanley town centre with a Squirrel! his name was Granville by the way.

and today Sunday,
first race out this year, and so glad all the snow had finally cleared.
Great to get out there and put a race number on. Really enjoyed it but a little dissappointed with the time but what can I expect after training in snow for 2 weeks.

Training

Back in training, things have gone better than after London, less injuries which is a big relief.

New training programme looks harder than ever but glad to be back running, even if it is on some very cold days.

Did a short race recently, the Santa's Fun Run at the Britannia stadium for the Donna Louise trust, great fun but got out sprinted by my 6 year old daughter, she's sneaky.

Progress To London

Weeks are getting less towards London and all as been going well.
Had a few hiccups...due to illness and a slight injury due to a dog tripping me up whilst I was on a long run.
This put me out for a week, but hopefully as the next few weeks are so crucial they will go well.

Competed in two races over the last two weekends, couldn't have been more different.

on the 8th of March I did the Stafford 20, my first ever race over 20 miles, came back with a win, a good time, and the course record.

Check this link for the race review,

Christmas Time.

Back on the road now to being fully fit i hope, with training being made interesting with the icy roads.

Decided to do a Race last weekend just to see how fit I currently am, I am happy to say I surprised myself and won it in a reasonable time considering the problems I have had. Glad to be back out there enjoying the miles.

Just getting ready for xmas with the girls and to be fresh for Marathon training in the New Year...

Merry Xmas.
