Back Running

Had a hard couple of months with both injury and illness, training has been difficult and really frustrating.

Did my first race since London in Berlin, a 10k International,
the conditions didn't help and a lack of race fitness showed in the result.

My next target is Bristol for the World Half Qualifiers, and preperations for doing the New York Marathon later this year.

Back Home From Rio

Well back home now and down to Earth with a big bump, still not training although the Limps getting better.

Had a nightmare of a run in Rio, plan was to start of steady and increase pace as I went on...was running really well and felt comfortable UNTIL about the 12k mark, then it all went wrong,

absolutely gutted about it, walked and jogged the rest of the way home.

Got told I was daft afterwards but there was no way that after getting to the race I wasn't going to finish, I had aimed for the World Half's plus it worked in well with my marathon training.

Ross-Cope and Nicholls Represent in Rio

10 October 2008

In their first international outing of the year Michelle Ross-Cope (City of Stoke) and Wendy Nicholls (Cirencester AC) certainly picked a great destination to don a GB vest.

The pair, who currently lie in sixth and seventh place respectively in the McCain Power of Ten rankings for the Half Marathon, will represent the Norwich Union GB& NI Team at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 12 October.
